AWARDED GOLD MEDAL IN U.K.
Jason James Viegas has been awarded the Gold Medal Certificate with
Honours at the recently held ITDA (International Dance Teachers
Association on 29th November 2011 at the Royal Trinity Hall, Surrey,
United Kingdom. The International Dance Teachers Association is
one of the world’s largest examination spectrums of dance
examinations on a global scale with over 7,000 members in 55 countries.
The IDTA takes a prominent part in the various bodies co-ordinating
dance activities with member of the British Dance Council, the Council
for Dance Education and Training and the theatre Dance Council.
The IDTA conducts examinations qualifying teachers of dancing and
entry to the Association. They are based on detailed knowledge of
the dance techniques involved and the abili forms to a wide range
of prospective student.
Jason thus became the first Indian to achieve this feat with 96%
results. So impressive were the examiners that he has been specially
invited for the President Medal to be held on 29th June 2012. The
IDTA exams is conducted according to the Attainment bands.
Following are the attainment bands:
U-Unsuccessful - less then 65%
P-Pass - 65% - 74%
C-Commended - 75% - 84%
HC- Highly Commended - 85% - 89%
H- Honours - 90% and above
Jason’s 96% results had highly impressive
comments from his examiners saying :-

a competition in the making here!”
His each dance was Individually judged and commented on:-
Samba – excellent foot & body
timing here, creating good body language & characterization.
Rumba – Expressive feeling throughout with good leading
Cha –Cha -loved the Rhythm & speed &
